John Perry
John D. Perry, PhD, MDiv, BCIA, FAACS is the owner of the PerryMeter National Service Center.
John is the inventor (in 1975) of the insertable vaginal and anal EMG sensors that revolutionized the treatment of incontinence and other pelvic muscle disorders.
In 1985 John opened the first "continence clinic" in Bryn Mawr, PA, to provide biofeedback treatment of incontinence.

SENSORS: The original PerryMeter sensor (1981) was designed to be sterilizable and reusable. They were hand-made, and cost nearly $500. Contemporary sensors are strictly "single user". They are made by injection-molded plastic and cost 1/10 to 1/20th as much. In addition, they can be used at home with an home biofeedback trainer
HOME TRAINERS: The U-Control EMG home trainer made by Thought Technology is recommended for vulvodynia patients by Dr. Howard Glazer and many others for daily home practice.
The fria is the first FDA cleared direct-to-consumer product to help women gain bladder control (i.e., no prescription required). It is recommended for stress and urge incontinence and for sexual dysfunctions caused by pelvic muscle spasms. Note that it is not recommended for and probably not effective for the treatment of vulvodynia using the Glazer Protocol.
