Pharmacologic therapies
Research in the areas of chronic vaginitis, STDs, and vulvodynia. Participation in an NIH sponsored workshop on Vulvodynia April, 1997. Submission of a grant proposal to NIH to evaluate multiple factors potentially associated with vulvodynia, including exposures, infection, psychological adaptations, muscular alterations, etc.
I have a strong interest in Vulvodynia and Vulvar vestibulitis, and work both clinically and in my research on this ongoing, poorly understood problem. My clinical practice is based in Chelsea, Michigan -- 12 miles west of Ann Arbor, MI.and 50 miles west of Detroit -- where I have a weekly clinic devoted to vulvodynia, vaginal, and cervical problems. I am a full-time Associate Professor at the University of Michigan were I collaborate with others, including gynecologists, a pain psychologist, and a physical therapist, to further study this problem.
