As a PT, I deal with any complaint of vulvar, rectal, and pelvic pain syndromes, whatever the origin. I also treat women/men with urinary incontinence.
Indepth personal history, physical assessment & treatment of the musculoskeletal system, using traditional PT tools (soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release, electrical stimulation, biofeedback (Flexiplus), pelvic floor rehabilitation (including internal soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, and therapeutic exercise), and treatment of the visceral system (GI tract, bladder, and urethra)
I have attended nearly 50 continuing education classes in the last 5 years specializing in women's health as well as in pelvic dysfunction. In 1995, I attended my first ISSVD meeting in Argentina and in 1997 was voted in to its membership as the first physical therapist member. I am also a board member of the Section on Women's Health of the American Physical Therapy Association, a medical advisory board member of the National Vulvodynia Association, and a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society.
Healthy Expectations is a private physical therapy practice in Naperville, a far western suburb of Chicago. I receive patient referrals from physicians in all areas of the Chicago metropolitan area. In order to receive a physical therapy evaluation in the state of Illinois, you must have a physicians prescription referring you for care.
